“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.” Daniel 7:9-10
“And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle [in heaven], and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.” Exodus 25:8-9.
“Then verily the first [old] covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. Hebrews 9:1-2
“And after the second veil (curtain), the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant [Ten Commandments]; And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercy seat (Throne); of which we cannot now speak particularly.” Verses 3-5
“Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.” Verse 6.
“Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the [brazen] altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually. The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at evening.” Exodus 29:38-39.
The daily service consisted of the morning and evening burnt offering, the offering of sweet incense on the golden altar, and the special offerings for individual sins. The ministration of the priest throughout the year in the first apartment of the sanctuary represents the work of ministration upon which Christ entered at His ascension.
It was the work of the priest in the daily ministration to present before God the blood of the sin offering, also the incense which ascended with the prayers of God’s people. So did Christ plead His blood before the Father in behalf of sinners after His ascension, and present before Him also, with the precious fragrance of His own righteousness, the prayers of penitent believers. Such was the work of ministration in the first apartment of the sanctuary in heaven. Not only the sanctuary itself, but the ministration of the priests, was to “serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things.” Hebrews 8:5.
The ministration of the earthly sanctuary consisted of two divisions, a daily service and a yearly service in the most holy place. Included in the daily ministration were holy convocations or feasts of the Lord. “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the Lord, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.” Exodus 12:2; Leviticus 23.
“But into the second (behind the curtain) went the high priest alone once every year [Day of Atonement], not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all (most holy place) was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle (holy place) was yet standing: Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation [Christ 1st advent].” Verses 7-10
“But [Jesus] Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle (in heaven), not made with [human] hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Hebrews 9:11-12.
It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens (earthly sanctuary) should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entered into the holy place every year with blood of others; For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world has he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the [investigative] judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation (Revelation 22:12).” Hebrews 9:23-28.
Read Daniel 7:2-8. “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.” Daniel 7:17
“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom (Rome/Papacy) upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.” Daniel 7:23
“Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the [heavenly] sanctuary and the host [saints] to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (2,300 years); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed [Day of Atonement].” Daniel 8:13-14
“Seventy weeks (490 years) are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city,….Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks (49 years), and threescore and two weeks (434 years): the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.” Daniel 9:24-25
“And after threescore and two weeks (434 years) shall Messiah be cut off (crucifixion), but not for himself….And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years): and in the midst of the week (3½ years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation (offerings) to cease.” Daniel 9:26-27
“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you….And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” Acts 1:8-9. “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:1-4
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate (Papacy) set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days (1,290 years).” Daniel 12:11
“Blessed is he that waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days (1,335 years).” Daniel 12:12
“And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (2,300 years); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed [Day of Atonement].” Daniel 8:14
Daniel was grieved in his spirit and in his body because of the visions he had seen. So he then requested an interpretation. “So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.” Daniel 7:15-16
“Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth [Rome/Papacy], which shall be diverse from all kingdoms (union of churchcraft and statecraft), and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings (Germanic tribes) that shall arise: and another shall rise after them (Papacy); and he shall be diverse (religious) from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
25 And he (Pope) shall speak great words against the most High (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4), and shall wear out the saints of the most High (Protestants), and think to change times and laws (4th commandment): and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time (1,260 years (AD 538 – AD 1798)).
26 But the [investigative] judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom [of stone] is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.” Daniel 7:23-27
